Calendar of Events

jumper ringHunt Club Farms has put on starter trials, combined tests and recognized events over the past 10 years. Recently a need for affordable Jumper shows in the Northern Virginia area has become evident.

The word on social media is the rising cost and difficult access to the more prestigious “A” shows in the area have riders and trainers looking for options.

We believe there is a place for all levels of competition and rising ability. Competing at the highest levels is a thrill and challenge yet we all know, carries a significant price tag. Hunt Club Jumper Shows offer the opportunity to compete over high-quality courses at a very reasonable price.

The objective of the Hunt Club Farms schooling jumper shows is for riders to feel more prepared and ready to tackle “A” show courses or get ready for their next recognized event.

samantha jumperEach division has three classes. The first is an inviting un-judged warm-up class over approximately 8 jumps. Next is the speed course. Because everyone enjoys friendly competition, each show offers $250 in prize money. This is presented to the competitor with the fastest time over the Speed round for the day! (Note: Only the first time the course is jumped counts for the prize money) The speed rounds can get intense and are fun to ride and watch. The second next course is Power and Speed and invites horses to jump carefully and calculated over the first portion of the course, and if clean proceed directly to the jump off.

The courses at Hunt Club are designed with the horse in mind. They ask reasonable yet challenging questions and provide a lot of options. Competitors can make the choice to take the long looping rout, or tidy, quick inside turns.

Overall the aim at each show is for horses to improve and riders to learn. Every effort is made for horse and rider combinations to leave with a positive experience that will help them build for the next competition.
